American Fork Canyon
3 miles out and back
1-2 hours on trail + 1 hour for cave tour
Moderate, 1092 elevation gain
Mostly shaded near the bottom, fully exposed near the top
Restrooms, water, and visitor center at trailhead; Toilet on trail near cave entrance
Early May-early October
*Get tickets in advance at the visitor center or get there early the day of; they usually sell out by early afternoon
*The cave is always 45 degrees inside, so bring a jacket or sweatshirt
*Across the street from the visitor center there are picnic areas and the 0.25 mile Swinging Bridge Nature Trail, where there is good birdwatching
