Notes: First there is the steep climb up to the Y, then the relaxing path through oak and maple. The environment changes again at Bear Flat. It transition to an Aspen grove.

Area Location: Various locations on east and north ends of the valley

Notes: Look for the big Y on the mountain above Provo. Head toward the base. The trailhead is located at approximately 900 Terrace Dr Provo.

Notes: This is a good beginner hike to get a feel for what it’s like to climb Wasatch trails.

Destination: Bear Flat
 Elevation: 7400 Feature: Meadow
Notes: After climbing past the Y and through Slide Canyon, this meadow is a good place to stop before continuing on. It is also a good place to set up camp on an overnighter.
