Trailhead
The main trailhead for accessing Dimple Dell Nature Park is The Wrangler Trailhead, located at 10400 South 1300 East in Sandy, Utah. There are restroom facilities, picnic tables, and a drinking fountain available at the trailhead.
There are several other trailheads, including many community access points throughout the length of Dimple Dell Park. For more information, visit the Salt Lake County Dimple Dell Park website.
The Hike
From the Wrangler Trailhead, several hiking options are available. The main trail leaves the parking area on the south side and descends into the ravine below where you can choose to hike up or down the canyon on the Dry Creek Trail. The trail follows along a small perennial stream through a nice wooded area for miles in each direction. Take your time and explore.
Another great route option is to follow the North Rim Trail east from the Wrangler Trailhead. This route begins at the east end of the parking area and stays high on the canyon rim, offering fantastic views of the nature park below. After about 2.8 miles, the trail ends at the Granite Park Trailhead at the northeast end of the park.
